A day visit provides a fairly comprehensive view of a college. Spend a few hours on campus, attend a class, eat lunch with a student and/or meet with a coach or a professor, and you’ll experience some of the intangibles of college life. Day visits are designed to try to meet your individual needs and interests and often include a campus tour and interview.
Day visits are available Monday through Friday from late January through late April and from early September through late November for high school seniors. Typically a day visit is either scheduled for a morning or an afternoon with lunch included.
Day visits are arranged on a first-come, first-served basis, and we request that you call the Office of Admissions (800-852-2256) at least two weeks in advance of your desired visit date.
An overnight visit provides the most in-depth college visit experience. In addition to the typical campus visit activities, you’ll spend a night in a residence hall; enjoy quality time with a current student and his/her roommates and friends; possibly attend a sporting event, concert, lecture or student activity meeting; and take in the full breadth of campus life.
Overnight visits (Sunday through Thursday) are arranged for seniors only, from late January through late April and in the fall from early September through late November. Overnight visits can include an interview and campus tour, a class, a meeting with a professor and/or coach, as well as social events in the evening and an overnight stay with a student host. Meal passes are provided for dinner, breakfast and lunch, and students typically arrive on campus between 3 – 5 p.m. the day of the overnight.
You should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel and seasonal clothing. Your host may have some studying to do, so bring a book, magazines or homework of your own.
