The Parents Fund
The Parents Fund is part of the Colleges’ Annual Fund of unrestricted gifts. Annual giving supplements other sources of revenue that make up the Colleges’ budget. This support helps provide students with access to Hobart and William Smith through scholarships and financial aid; robust learning opportunities on campus, in the community and abroad; enrichment through leadership programming, career exploration and research opportunities; and new technologies and spaces that enhance academic learning and student life.
The Parents Fund is comprised of unrestricted gifts made during the fund year, which runs from June 1 – May 31, by parents of current students and parents of graduates.
Every gift makes a difference. We appreciate the community of generous Parents Fund supporters and encourage anyone who has not yet made a gift this year to do so online today or call (877) HWS-GIFT.
Other Parent Giving
Additionally and separate from the annual Parents Fund, parents can make one-time or multi-year designated gifts in support of the Colleges’ endowment, capital projects or any special area of interest.
The Cook Parents Circle
Lang L.H.D'12 and Lyn Cook P'99, P'05
In 2012, in recognition of the dedication and generous support of Langdon (Lang) L.H.D.’12 and Lyn Cook P’99, P’05, the Colleges established The Cook Parents Circle, a giving society that specifically celebrates the importance of non-alum parents who remain engaged with the institution and make Hobart and William Smith a philanthropic priority.
Membership in The Cook Parents Circle begins at the $25,000 level in collective gift commitments with Lifetime Membership recognized at $100,000. All members of The Cook Parents Circle are invited to special events each year; Lifetime Members’ names are recognized permanently on campus.
