An expert in Vietnamese culture and society, Professor of Sociology Jack Harris is a distinguished teacher whose dynamic work at the Colleges spans nearly four decades. His far-reaching contributions as an intellectual leader have included mentoring honors students, directing the Vietnam term abroad and serving as core director of World Regional Geography for the Semester at Sea Program. Harris earned a B.A. from Tulane University, and both his M.A. and Ph.D. from University of Pennsylvania. His scholarly interests encompass community-based service learning and men’s studies.
