Friday, Jan. 25, through Saturday, Feb. 9, the Davis Gallery will be exhibiting "From the Outside Arranging In," which features works from the Colleges’ collection that have been selected by Professor of Writing and Rhetoric Cheryl Forbes and Francesca Pittelli ‘14.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, from 7 - 9 p.m.
The exhibition has been planned and arranged by junior, Francesca Pittelli. Francesca was inspired to arrange a show similar to one she had learned about while interning at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute this past summer. The Williams College Museum of Art had presented a series of shows in which different community members arranged the same pieces to their own liking. Each member of the community would draw a different group of friends and followers to the museum.
Francesca wanted to do a similar style of show but have the individuals choose their own pieces from the Colleges’ collection to represent the individual’s own personal taste. Francesca saw this idea as a creative way to attract different members of the HWS and Geneva community to the Davis Gallery.
Gallery hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. -5 p.m.; Saturday from 1 - 5 p.m.; the gallery is closed Sundays.
