On Friday, May 17, the traditional Hobart Launch will begin at 3:30 p.m. After gathering at the top of the path leading down to Seneca Lake, Hobart students, parents and alumni will process to the Bozzuto Boathouse.
Distinguished alumni and members of faculty and staff will address the Hobart Class of 2013 before presenting the men with a replica of the paddle used by the legendary Seneca Indian warrior Agayentah.
Scott Mason’81, P’13 will deliver the event’s keynote talk, offering his own reflects on his time at the Colleges and his outlook on what’s to come for the soon-to-be-graduates. As a parent of Andrew Mason ’13, a member of this year’s graduating class, Mason also has close ties to the 2013 Statesmen.
Mason graduated from Hobart with a B.A. in history. On campus, he was a brother in the Sigma Chi fraternity and played on the Statesmen’s hockey team. He is now the founder and president of Rubicon Wealth Management, LLC, which oversees business development, as well as establishes asset allocation strategy and investment policy for clients.
Since graduating, Mason has served the Colleges as an admissions volunteer, and is a current Member of the SAA Board of Directors. He remains an avid advocate and benefactor of the Statesmen, and recently took part in the 50th Anniversary celebration of Hobart Hockey.
