The Area Coordinator for Residential Education is a 12-month live-in position, responsible for supporting the departmental mission through the supervision of 9-14 paraprofessional staff members and the administration of a residence area of approximately 400-600 students. Special emphasis is placed upon the role of the Area Coordinator as an educator, promoting a meaningful integration of academic and residential life. Each Area Coordinator is responsible for a unique neighborhood of residences. These neighborhoods may include a mixture of traditional residence halls, apartment-style housing and/or themed houses. The Area Coordinator reports indirectly to the Director of Residential Education and directly to either the Assistant Director of Residential Education or the Assistant Director of Housing Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling or a related field and one to three years residence life experience preferred; or a bachelor's degree and experience in residence hall administration required. Energy and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, vibrant and creative environment is a must. Sense of humor and flexibility with the day-to-day activities and demands of a residential campus will be beneficial.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This is a full-time, 12-month, live-in, benefits-eligible, administrative salaried (exempt) position. Compensation includes salary, a furnished apartment, local phone, cable, and meals during the academic year and the Colleges' comprehensive benefits package. Professional development funds are also available. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
