A student caller is responsible for assisting Hobart & William Smith Colleges in reaching it's philanthropic goals by helping to communicate the value of the Colleges' mission to it's broad base of alumni, alumnae, parents and friends. It is our objective to fundraise for the Colleges professionally at all times. This means, among other things, handling each call with tact, courtesy and sensitivity. It is the responsibility of the entire staff to work together to create the best possible environment for moving towards our goals. Callers will carefully solicit contributions to Hobart & William Smith Colleges by stressing to our alums and parents the significance of their gifts in keeping the Colleges academic quality high. Callers will establish a positive relationship with the constituents with whom they speak and respond to questions and/or problems raised by alums and parents. Callers must meet personal goals set forth by HWS Connect Staff Manager. Callers will be required to work a minimum of two sessoins a week and are responsible for finding replacements (from a list of qualified callers) if unable to work a scheduled shift. All student fundraisers must attend all necessary training sessions before they begin calling. Student fundraisers will be paid for their training sessions at their base hourly rate.
