Kristen Tobey

Director of Student Activities

Kristen is responsible for the overall supervision and leadership of the Office of Student Activities. In addition to overseeing opportunities for students to get involved on campus, Kristen works closely with the orientation program, Hobart Student Government, William Smith Congress, student trustees, budget allocation process, fraternities, and clubs and organizations. She works on several campus wide committees and coordinate campus wide programming efforts. Kristen enjoys helping students take advantage of their out of class experiences which promote student development and teach valuable leadership skills. She also serves as a facilitator for the Personal Empowerment Course at the Colleges.

Kristen graduated from Marywood University with a master’s degree in school leadership and a dual bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, enjoying outdoor activities, and bringing her golden retrievers Kinley and Hadley for frequent swims in Seneca Lake.

Kim Kochin

Associate Director/Fraternity Advisor

Kimberly Kochin holds a master's degree in arts education and an undergraduate degree in studio/fine arts with emphasis in advertising and design, and minors in philosophy and communications from Mansfield University. In addition to advising several student groups, she has also served on several campus wide committees. She works directly with the Hobart fraternities, student governments and the Budget Allocations Committee. She is known for her open door policies, good sense of humor and problem solving.

Kimberly is also an avid concert-goer, music enthusiast and pop culture maven. She volunteers regularly in the Geneva Community serving on the Geneva BID Committee representing the Colleges at Cruising Night, Light up Geneva Auction, Finglerlakes Wine and Music Festival. She has received awards and accolades for her work on campus and in the Geneva Community for her services.

Chad Freeman

Associate Director of Student Activities

Chad helps coordinate the day to day operations of the Office of Student Activities. In addition to promoting leadership opportunities for students to get involved on campus, Chad works closely with the Hobart & William Smith Class Presidents, Sorority Life, HWS Engage, the Concert Advisory Committee, The Buzz, the After Dark Series, clubs and organizations. He works with several campus wide committees to coordinate campus wide programming efforts, such as Senior Week and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center. Chad enjoys connecting students to the campus and with community to grow and develop themselves holistically.

Chad graduated from Louisiana State University with a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sociology & Cultural Anthropology, and minored in Women & Gender Studies. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his husband, their dog and cat, friends, playing host to guests, traveling, and exploring the Finger Lakes and all it has to offer!

Theresa Greiner Bourque

Office Coordinator

Theresa is the administrative support for the Student Activities Office. She assists the many student clubs with space requests, reimbursements and other paperwork involved in facilitating student club events.

She processes payments, invoices, purchase orders and helps the clubs with budgeting. She also hires and supervises the student office workers and organizes semester break bus travel.
