How the Center for Counseling and Student Wellness can help survivors of sexual assault (315-781-3388):

If you would like to talk to someone, free and confidential help is available. A crisis manager is available to talk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whenever school is in session. You can access the CCSW crisis manager by calling the campus dispatcher at 315-781-3333 and asking to speak with the "crisis manager on call." You can also call (315) 781-3388 or walk in to the Center for Counseling and Student Wellness at 91 St Clair St to speak with a counselor from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Center for Counseling and Student Wellness can:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance in helping you choose what decisions and actions you wish to take.
  • Assist with reporting to police and/or the Student Sexual Grievance Officer, if you choose to do so
  • Help create a plan for your safety, both physically and emotionally
  • Provide information about resources available to you both on campus and in the community
  • Psychotherapy designed to help you manage emotional and physiological reactions to the assault.

If you would rather seek support and advocacy off campus you can call the local rape crisis and relationship violence support center: Safe Harbors, Inc., (800) 247-7273

It's never too late to ask for support and consider reporting options.
