WHAT STUDENTS SAY

The Counseling Center has a good reputation on campus! During any given year, 10 to 15 percent of the student body secures services at the Center. On average, each student who comes to the Center attends about six counseling sessions. At the end of each semester, students attending sessions at the Center were encouraged to complete anonymous satisfaction surveys. Here are some of the written comments students included on their surveys:

  • "I felt that I was being taken care of. The strategies and homework that I got have helped me immensely. Lori, the secretary, is also really easy to talk with and helpful. This semester is the first time I have gone, and [my counselor] has helped me so much."
  • "The Counseling Center is run very professionally and has great staff."
  • "Every opportunity I have I recommend the services to friends who need it."
  • "My counselor is great about giving feedback; (s)he helps me view a situation in different ways."
  • "I am glad I have someone to talk to other than friends."
  • "I can now say that I am making the most out of HWS.?
