Jamal Simmons
Political analyst and journalist Jamal Simmons joined the series on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Geneva Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library for a talk titled, "Countdown to Election 2012." Serving as a strategic and communications leader to The Raben Group, Simmons has had a successful career in Washington, D.C. that has also included appearances as an analyst on CNN and CBS News.
After years spent aiding local campaigns in his hometown of Detroit, Simmons joined the 1992 Clinton campaign. Simmons served as deputy communications director for Al Gore during his presidential campaign, and acted as a spokesperson for Gore during the Florida recount. His work has also extended to advising the Democratic National Committee on the 2008 Obama/Biden campaign.
