Tara Wall is The Washington Times' deputy editorial page editor and columnist. During her talk titled, "Obama's First 100 Days: A Conservative's View," Wall will analyze Obama's approach from a conservative viewpoint as well as address inclusiveness and how the new Republican Party will rebuild given the current political environment.
Wall's President's Forum Series lecture will be anchored in her expertise as a journalist who has reported extensively on timely topics involving faith, race, politics and national policy in her columns, commentary and blogs. Recently, Wall has reported on a number of topics related to Obama's first 100 days of presidency. During Obama's initial months in office, Wall wrote about the many national issues that he has faced, including the economic crisis, gay marriage laws, the Iraq War and the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
In addition to her role at The Washington Times, Wall also serves as a political contributor for CNN and CNN.com. An award-winning journalist and former newscaster, Wall has spent 17 years in the fields of communications, politics and journalism. She served as communications director and spokesperson at the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding at the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to that, Wall was appointed by President George W. Bush as director of the Office of Public Affairs at the Administration for Children and Families within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in February of 2007.
