Established in 2007, the Hobart and William Smith Equestrian Team is a club sport competing within the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. We are located in Zone 2, Region 1, competing against top teams such as Cornell University, Alfred University, and Nazareth College.
A common love for horses and respect for the tradition of equestrian sport is what brings these students together. We divide our riding time between two stables, one that is owned and operated by Coach Sarah Barge WS &apos02 and another that is conveniently less than 10 miles off campus. There is ample opportunity to improve horsemanship, prepare for shows, make memories, and have fun.
HWS Equestrian unites the recreation of a club sport with the competition of a varsity team. Riders are encouraged to show, but are not put under pressure to do so. Riding for pure enjoyment is a strong value of this team. A strong bond exists between the members of HWS Equestrian, one that holds its foundation in an unconditional love for horses.
Contact Allison Reindel and Alessandra Mele, if you would like to receive further information about meeting times and upcoming events.
