My perspective on the Colleges really changed when my daughter Lucy enrolled at William Smith. Having the opportunity to return to the campus often, engage with the faculty members, see how all the facilities have improved, and most importantly meet the new generation of HWS students allowed me to rediscover HWS. I was reliving great memories, seeing familiar places and even some familiar faces, but at the same time I was learning about all that is new and different at the Colleges. HWS was a great place back when I graduated, but it has improved and grown. It has the energy and spirit of a great small liberal arts college. It's so encouraging to meet today's HWS students. They are energetic, intelligent, well-rounded young adults. It gives you confidence that as graduates they'll be well prepared to be successful no matter what they choose to do. I realize that there are costs associated with this, and I feel fortunate that I can give back to the school that meant so much to me.
