“My time at HWS was life changing. I was extremely fortunate to have had some of the best professors one could ever hope for. I believe that stellar teaching has always been the hallmark of HWS. As a first-generation student, I was further blessed to have a small cadre of professors who thought I could be successful in graduate school. I went on to pursue a master's degree in school psychology at St. Lawrence University, and had an amazing career for more than 30 years. I attribute my success to the outstanding education I received at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Many years later, when my daughter expressed a desire to attend HWS, I was thrilled. She, too, found success at the Colleges, both academically and on the crew team. Liz is now a school psychologist as well, after completing her graduate program at the College of St. Rose! My hope over the years has been that my annual contributions to the Colleges might help - if only in some small way - to continue the tradition of excellence that I was beneficiary to while there. I would like to think that both of us are living "lives of consequence" due to our outstanding education at HWS!”
