When I was a student at the Colleges, I was the recipient, not the donor. Because of others, I was able to go to college. And I wouldn’t be where I am right now without the education I received, and without the life experience I got out of it. Attending Hobart and William Smith gives you confidence. As a student, I learned that if you put your mind to it, you can be successful. 

In 2020, the pair established the Leslie T. and Joseph D. Waters ’59 Annual Conservative Scholarship. This scholarship is created to provide support to an academically qualified and financially deserving Hobart or William Smith student who has an interest in pursuing a major or minor in political science.
