14 February 2018 Tour Japan on All-Paid Trip
The Center for Global Education (CGE) is seeking first-year and sophomore students interested in representing the Colleges on a two-week, all expenses paid tour of Japan through the Technos International cross-cultural exchange program. Sponsored by Technos International College in Tokyo and the Tanaka Ikueikai Educational Trust, this year's Technos International Week will be held from June 11 to June 24. Two HWS students will be selected and will be accompanied by an HWS faculty or staff member.
The program promotes international exchange and understanding on the campus of Technos International College while offering groups the opportunity to experience and appreciate Japanese life and culture. Numerous academic, cultural and social activities are planned. Participants will visit classes at Technos International College, interacting with its students and faculty.
The sponsors will provide in-country travel, accommodations in Tokyo and elsewhere, and many meals. The Colleges will cover the cost of international airfare and provide a spending allowance.
Interested students can pick up an application at the CGE in Trinity Hall. Applications are due by Wednesday, Feb. 28, and must include an essay and a formal letter of recommendation from an HWS faculty member on department letterhead. Students who are enrolled in Japanese language courses or other coursework pertaining to Japan will be given some priority in consideration.
