13 July 2023 • Entrepreneurship Diallo ’23 Lands Seat with Aon
Aon internship allows Abdoulaye Diallo ’23 to explore financial world.
Economics major Abdoulaye Diallo ’23 has landed a summer internship with Aon in its New York City Office, where he is working within the Financial Services Group.
“In my role, I am assisting in matching clients with the right products to help mitigate their risk and protect their assets,” says Diallo, who is a double minor in entrepreneurial studies and theatre. “I applied to Aon because they are a well-established firm that allows me to step into the world of financial services. This opportunity lets me gain valuable experience that will continue to benefit my professional career.”
Diallo credits his advisor, Instructor of Economics Jenny Tessendorf, and the Hobart football coaching staff with supporting him. “Professor Tessendorf has been there for me since my first academic day on campus and given me advice a countless number of times. My coaches helped instill good time management habits in me that have been huge in my college career and in this position with Aon.”
During his internship search process, Diallo consulted with the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education for guidance. “Shayne Feinberg and Brandi Ferrara helped set up meetings with alums where I was able to gain valuable advice,” says Diallo.
On campus, Diallo serves as an Economics Teaching Fellow and a member of the Druid Honor Society. A defensive back for the Hobart football team, Diallo has helped the Statesmen to a 25-8 record. The three-time Liberty League All-Academic Team selection posted career-highs for tackles, pass breakups and interceptions in 2022. He is a two-time Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.
