“We really wanted to get someone that all the students would be excited and hyped to see. I’m looking forward to hearing A Boogie wit da Hoodie and seeing how the whole concert will come together,” says Lalaine Vergara ’21, a member of the Colleges Concert Committee.
A Boogie Wit da Hoodie is best known for his song “Drowning” which peaked at No. 38 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In February 2016, A Boogie released the mixtape Artist, which caused Forbes to list A Boogie as a top up-and-coming rapper. On June 13, 2017 A Boogie was also named one of the Top 10 in XXL’s “2017 Freshman Class.” In September he released his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist, featuring guest artists such as Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, PnB Rock and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
The event is organized by the College’s Concert Advisory Committee and CAB.
