Margo Grapshi ’22 is in Paris, France, working behind the scenes at NBC Sports to ensure a successful Olympic Games.
After a postgraduate year teaching English as a Second Language in France, Margo Grapshi ’22 was eager to make a professional transition to the media and entertainment industry. When she returned to New York City, Grapshi found an ideal opportunity at exactly the right time.
As the 2024 Summer Olympics was getting ready to take over Paris, France, Grapshi was poised to join NBC Sports as a Game Events Management Coordinator, helping the team hit the ground running in her old stomping ground.
The Games Events Management Team oversees a wide range of responsibilities for the 2024 Summer Olympics, including accreditation, accommodation, ticketing, travel and merchandising for all NBC employees and personnel. Grapshi’s role deals with credentialing NBC employees, facilitating ticket purchases for the events and overseeing the NBC Olympic pin program. It’s an Olympic tradition for athletes and staff to exchange pins during The Games.
At HWS, Grapshi double majored in media and society and writing and rhetoric and minored in French. She completed a January-term study abroad program through IAU/HWS, served as secretary of the HWS Audubon Club and participated in Koshare Dance Collective and Writing Colleagues. Grapshi is a member of the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Association Honor Society.
“I am thankful for the strong foundation and skills that my HWS education provided me to help me be a successful and a positive contributor to my team in this position,” Grapshi says.
