8 November 2024 HWS Wins Two CASE Awards By Zach Levanduski
For excellence in videography and publications, Hobart and William Smith won Best CASE District II Awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Hobart and William Smith won two awards from the Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The awards recognize HWS for communications and marketing materials in the video and publication categories.
The annual CASE accolades program celebrates institutional accomplishments and higher education professionals for their work across areas ranging from fundraising, alumni relations and student recruitment to marketing and communications.
In the “Videos: Student Audience (Long)” category, HWS won for the Lives of Consequence video, which showcases six current students and their HWS experiences. Created in partnership with Madhouse, the video was shown at the beginning of every admissions information session through 2023 and kicked off each admitted student day during the Spring 2023 semester.
The video features Hrithik Biswas ’23, Samari Brown ’24, Matt Nusom ’23, Tess Weber ’23, Sadie Winton ’24 and Jet Wright ’23 as they share their unique perspectives on discovering HWS and learning to lead a life of consequence.
In the “Publications: Student Recruitment (Individual Publications)” category, HWS received recognition for the Outcomes brochure, showcasing HWS’ flagship career preparation program, Pathways and providing examples of how current students and recent graduates find success. The sections in the publication – Discover, Explore, Experience, Connect – mirror the steps of Pathways. The Outcomes book is sent to prospective students, helping to show the breadth and depth of experiences available to them at HWS.
The brochure included engaging photography from Staff Photographers Adam Farid ’20, Brett Williams and retired Head Photographer Kevin Colton L.H.D. ’23, and was designed by North Charles Street which is led by alumnus Clifford Lull '82.
The Pathways program encourages students to discover, explore and experience their academic, personal and career-related interests. The program is overseen by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education. In June, Hobart and William Smith was recognized as a top 20 institution in the nation for career services and internships by The Princeton Review.
