4 May 2021 Eat Wheaties! Premieres: First Feature Film by Producer Webb 13

A new comedy from executive producer Daniel Webb 13 explores the pratfalls of social media and going viral.

Eat Wheaties PosterEat Wheaties!follows Sid Straw, played by Tony Hale (Arrested Development,Veep), who is asked to plan his college reunion, only to see his life unravel as he tries to prove that he was friends with movie star Elizabeth Banks when they were students.

The film, released on Friday, April 30, is the first feature that Daniel Webb 13 has worked on as an executive producer. He also served as the films graphics producer.

Eat Wheaties!premiered at theCalgary International Film Festival in September 2020 and had its American premiere the following month at theHeartland Film Festival,where it was the Opening Night film and won the Humor and Humanity Award. It was subsequently screened at the 2020San Diego International Film Festival, winning the Best Comedy Award.

A media and society major at HWS, Webb also studied philosophy and law and society, and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He broke into Hollywood as an intern and later as an assistant to Mark Neveldine 95, the writer, director and producer of such films such asCrank,GamerandThe Vatican Tapes. Webb also served simultaneously as an assistant to Neveldines producing partner, Skip Williamson, an executive producer of the Underworld series.

Since then, Webb has written, produced and directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials before joining the crew ofEat Wheaties!as an executive producer and graphics producer. He directed, produced and edited a feature documentary, Everyman: The Road to Chattanooga, which will be released later this year.

This semester, Webb will meet with students in Associate Professor of Media and Society Leah Shafers American Cinema course for a virtual discussion. Webb and Shafer are also planning for an in-person visit and screening ofEat Wheaties!for the fall 2021 semester.
