The Hobart and William Smith community will cheer on the basketball, ice hockey and swimming and diving teams this weekend in a robust lineup that welcomes alums back to campus.
To celebrate the promising season ahead, the Office of the President is hosting Roc City Sammich food truck on Saturday. Food will be free to the first 75 students wearing HWS gear to each game on Saturday, with festivities taking place behind Bristol Gym from 1 to 4:15 p.m. and at The Cooler from 5 to 7:45 p.m. HWS spirit gear will be given away to students riding the Hockey Fan Van to The Cooler to games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The shuttle van will depart from Medbery Parking at 6 p.m. and continuously loop to The Cooleruntil an hour after the game.
This weekends game schedule includes:
William Smith basketball, riding a four-game winning streak, will take on Ithaca College on Friday at 6 p.m. in Bristol Gym, followed by a Saturday matchup with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) at 2 p.m. Former Herons will don the green and white one more time for the annual alumnae game tipping off at 10 a.m.
Hobart basketball, currently first-place in the Liberty League, will face Ithaca College on Friday at 8 p.m. in Bristol Gym. The Statesmen will face RIT on Saturday at 4 p.m. and cheer on returning players during the alumni game at 11 a.m., also in Bristol Gym.
Hobart ice hockey will host New England College at The Cooler on Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the University of Southern Maine on Saturday at 4 p.m. After a 2-0 weekend, the Statesmen stand at No. 13 in the nation in this weeks USCHO.com poll and No. 11 in the D3hockey.com poll. Returning alums will put their skates on for an 11 a.m. game on Saturday.
William Smith ice hockey will host Manhattanville College, facing off on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. in The Cooler. The Herons are currently tied for first in the UCHC with Elmira, with only one conference loss this season.
William Smith swimming and diving will host Cazenovia College and Wells College on Saturday in Bristol Gym at 1 p.m. The Herons recently notched a fourth-place finish at the 2018 Rensselaer Invitational, improving their dual meet record to 6-2 on the season.
