13 September 2019 Goltz '19 Joins Credit Suisse
Kevin Goltz '19 has begun his career at Credit Suisse as an investment banking analyst in the Power and Renewables Group. Through an invaluable experience interning at the same firm and a wealth of academic and extracurricular experiences at the Colleges, Goltz says he's prepared for the fast-paced world of finance.
As an analyst, Goltz is part of a team that advises clients on corporate transactions. His responsibilities include creating investor presentations and financial models to value companies, analyzing merger and acquisition deals and raising capital.
In 2018, Goltz interned in the Financial Institutions Group at Credit Suisse, secured with help from Vice Chair of the HWS Board of Trustees and Executive Vice Chairman at Credit Suisse Craig Stine '81, P'17, who continued to be a mentor to Goltz through his senior year.
An economics major and environmental studies minor, Goltz graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. He says his studies gave him insight into topics in energy efficiency and environmental policy that uniquely positioned him for his role at the leading financial services firm. In particular, Goltz says Environmental Economics with Professor of Economics and Chair of the Environmental Studies Department and Entrepreneurial Studies Program Thomas Drennen gave him the opportunity to apply micro-economic principles to understanding environmental issues and possible solutions.
As a midfielder on the Hobart lacrosse team, Goltz says the experience of being a student athlete taught him how to sustain a strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and manage his time effectively. "These were crucial skills during my internship and will guide me as I begin my career," Goltz says.
On campus, Goltz was also a member of the Druid Honor Society and the Investment Club.
