On Friday, Feb. 24, MTV News correspondent, host of After Hours and the Happy Sad Confused podcast Joshua Horowitz 98 will be a featured panelist on PBS Charlie Rose, offering a preview of the 2017 Academy Awardsalongside film criticsAisha Harris and David Edelstein.The show, guest hosted by A.O. Scott of the New York Times, will air on PBS at 8:30 p.m. EST.
Since 1991, Charlie Rose has hosted some of Americas best thinkers, writers, politicians, athletes, entertainers, business leaders, scientists and other newsmakers in one-on-one interviews and roundtable discussions.
Returning tothe nationally acclaimed talk showas a guest is a surreal and wonderful honor, says Horowitz,who got his start in the entertainment industry at Charlie Rose, first as a student intern and lateras a producer for the shows sports, media and entertainment segments. To come back in this capacity wasnt something I ever seriously thought might happen. It was a nice surprise to be invited back.
After four years working on the show, Horowitz went on to write for a number of magazines, includingEntertainment Weekly,Filmmaker,InterviewandUS Weekly, and to produce a string of national talk-shows before his career took another turn. Incorporating his enthusiasm for filmmaking and interviewing, Horowitz began picking the creative minds of 20 of todays most popular filmmakers including Kevin Smith, Trey Parker and Jon Favreau. A year later, Horowitzs first book, The Mind of the Modern Moviemaker was being sold in bookstores throughout America.
Horowitz has also produced talk shows on CNBC and the Fox News Channel, and is the creator and producer of Junketeers, Comedy Centrals 2016 digital series lampooning celebrity journalism.
As a student at HWS, Horowitz majored in English, was a member of Chimera honor society, worked at WEOS-FM, and spent a semester off-campus studying in New York City. He received the Nathan D. Lapham Prize in Public Speaking at Charter Day in 1998.
On Thursday, Feb. 23,Robin Hood Foundation president Reynold Levy 66, L.H.D.14 was featured on Charlie Rose.
