16 August 2018 Lohr '18 Accepts Position with Credit Suisse
Following two summer internships with the financial services company Credit Suisse, Theresa Lohr '18 has been hired as a financial analyst in the Financial Institution Group (FIG) at the firm's New York City headquarters. In the position, Lohr will compile and analyze financial market data and company research and will assist her team in the execution of transactions such as capital raising, mergers and acquisitions.
"I am excited for this opportunity to fulfill my aspirations for a career in finance," says Lohr, who graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in mathematics, and a minor in cognition logic and economics.
Lohr first connected with Credit Suisse in 2016 during the Colleges' New York City Finance Experience when she met alums and parents working in the financial sector, including her future mentor, Credit Suisse's Executive Vice Chair of Global FIG and HWS Trustee Craig Stine '81, P'17.
In preparation for the industry, Lohr participated in the Fullbridge Finance Intensive Program, a five-day seminar offered through the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education that immerses students in financial analysis and valuation. "The Salisbury Center has been the most influential organization in preparing me for my internships and future career opportunities," she says.
As a student, Lohr studied abroad in Galway, Ireland and was a member of the William Smith soccer team. She received the Ashley M. Kent '07 Soccer Coach's Award for her accomplishments and contributions to her team. Lohr says Head Coach Aliceann Wilber P'12 and sports psychologist Dr. Tiffany R. Jones '99 inspired her to become a leader.
"HWS has fostered a cultivating learning environment for me that has allowed me to pursue my interests while gaining a tremendous education along the way," she says. "I credit my liberal arts background for allowing me to gain the knowledge and necessary problem-solving and interpersonal skills to be successful after graduation."
