12 June 2020 • Athletics Schreder '20 Accepts Post at Credit Suisse
William Smith College senior guard Annaliese Schreder '20 has accepted a position at Credit Suisse as Structured Products Analyst in New York City.
Graduating magna cum laude in economics, Schreder completed a summer internship in global markets at HSBC Bank last summer. A three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection, Schreder was elected to Hobart and William Smith Colleges Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa this spring. An international relations minor, she credits HWS liberal arts education with preparing her to be a well-rounded candidate.
"I think my liberal arts education helped me stand out as an applicant," says Schreder. "During my time at the Colleges, I was able to take a broader course load and I learned how to think critically which made me a more well-rounded student."
On the court, Schreder helped lead the Herons to four consecutive winning seasons and four straight Liberty League Tournament berths. She played in 98 career games, starting 34. Schreder recorded 311 points and grabbed 243 rebounds. Schreder shot .317 from the field, .309 from beyond the arc and .611 from the free-throw line.
Schreder started a career-high 25 games as a senior, producing career highs in points (156), rebounds (243) and assists (86). Schreder scored a career-high 19 points in an overtime win against Union this season. Two weeks later, she pulled down a career-high nine boards at Vassar. Schreder was presented with this year's Barbara Easton Regan Basketball Coach's Award and was named a 2019-20 College All-American Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year.
"I think being a student-athlete prepared me for my role as an analyst with Credit Suisse," Schreder says. "I was able to learn the importance of time-management and organization, working with a team and communicating with others to achieve a common goal."
