Following a summer internship with the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), Mallory Wright 20 has been offered a position with Fidelity Investments as an associate in its Emerging Leaders Program.
One of only 12 graduates selected to participate in the program, Wright will gain a cross-dimensional and in-depth overview of Fidelitys various sectors at Fidelity.She will spend four months building competency in each area in offices in Boston, Mass., Merrimack, N.H. and Smithfield, R.I. At the completion of the program, Wright will be offered a full-time position.
As a media and society major with entrepreneurial studies and English minors, Wright says she looks forward to her work with Fidelitys communications team, as well as gaining knowledge and technical skills from a variety of Fidelity businesses.
While interning in the clubs and events department of FCAT, Wright aided various Fidelity associates from around the world in a range of fields. FCAT clubs include Design Thinking, Behavioral Economics, Bits and Blocs, Artificial Intelligence and more.
While a junior at the Colleges, Wright studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, where she says she gained, confidence to go after the things that I want to do. After learning to navigate large cities, coming back felt like I could take on any city, internship or job.
Previously interning for National Life Insurance Group, Wright worked on a customer experience project to improve efficiency and employee engagement. She also created various marketing materials.
Through classes such as Cultures of Advertising, Media Theory and several English classes with Associate Professor of English Nicola Minott-Ahl, Wright says she developed confidence in her writing. In addition, she says her learning experiences in the Entrepreneurial Studies Department gave her a deeper understanding of business which will be applicable in the real world.
Wright is a Peer Mentor and serves as president of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Associations honor society.
