ORIENTATION SCHEDULE
Orientation 2024 will take place for all new students from Sunday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 25. Parents and families will join us on Sunday, Aug. 18 to help move in their students to campus.
This list provides highlights of each day's events.

Sunday, August 18
Arrive on Campus
Report to The Quad
To facilitate a smooth check-in and shorter lines under the Matriculation Tent, Hobart and William Smith strongly recommends that all families arrive during the following staggered check-in hours:
- 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. - Third and Fourth Floor Residents
- 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. - Second Floor Residents
- 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. - Ground-Level and First Floor Residents
- 11– 11:30 a.m. - International Students
- Complimentary On-Campus Lunch offered to students and families
- Students Meet Their Orientation Mentors
- Parents and Families: Information Sessions
- Residence Hall Activities
- Parents and Families: Information Sessions, President’s Welcome
- 5:30 p.m.: Family Farewell
Monday, August 19
- 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Spark!
- Evening: Live music, gaming competition
Tuesday, August 20
- 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Spark!
- Evening: Bubble ball, food trucks
Wednesday, August 21
- Day of Service
- 2:30 - 4 p.m.: Students attend their first FSEM class
- Regional Dinner: Students meet fellow classmates from their hometown region
Thursday, August 22
- 11:30 a.m.: Transfer Student Orientation Begins
- Take Your Pick: A variety of activities ranging from Rec Center fun to Career Services Office drop-in sessions
Friday, August 23
- Day of Service
- 2:30 - 4 p.m.: Second FSEM class
- Spark! Finale
- Hot air balloon rides, Trivia night
Saturday, August 24
- Warren Hunting Smith Library Expo
- Annual Variety Show
Sunday, August 25
- LOVE Geneva Tour and Food Fair
