22 October 2024 Letters ’27 Interns with Formula 1
Callum Letters ’27 shares his experience interning at Formula 1 and receiving the prestigious Bickley International Internship Award.
This past summer, Callum Letters ’27 worked as a commercial partnerships intern at Formula 1 in London, England.
During the internship, he collaborated with the digital ads team, managing daily tasks such as fulfilling client obligations and researching potential partners. His efforts played a key role in strengthening partnerships with major brands and identifying opportunities for growth.
“I used the summer to learn as much as possible, and I got to shadow and observe different verticals at the company,” says Letters, who is pursuing studies in economics and business management and entrepreneurship.
To land the internship, Letters regularly visited the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education during his first-year at HWS. Supported by Associate Director Shayne Feinberg P’17, P’20, Letters refined his resume and prepared for interviews.
Feinberg also helped him identify and secure funding for the position through the Salisbury Center’s Bickley International Internship Award. Generously supported by Ian and Kimberly Bickley P’14, the award is presented to one student every year to supplement their classroom experience with an international internship in retail or consumer industries.
“I wouldn’t have been able to have this experience without the funding,” Letters reflects. Through the Bickley, Letters received a stipend for living and travel expenses.
On campus, he is also a member of the Hobart football team. Under the mentorship of Head Coach Kevin DeWall ’00, Letters says he has become a better team player and communicator on the field and in the classroom.
“Whenever recruits come to campus, I say the same thing, ‘If you use your resources at HWS, you’re going to find so much value. And it’ll take you a long way,’” Letters says.
Letters is a member of the Orange Key Honor Society and the Finance Society. This spring, he will study abroad in Budapest, Hungary.
