17 December 2024 • Alums Tauscher '25 to Join Willis Towers Watson By Annabel Ramsay '25

Oliver Tauscher ’25 will serve as an analyst in the financial, actuarial and analytics group at Willis Towers Watson following graduation.

Last summer, Oliver Tauscher ’25 interned with Willis Towers Watson on their health benefits team, where he assisted large-market clients in navigating the complexities of health insurance, employee benefits and rewards programs. Tauscher, an economics major and public policy minor, has accepted a position as an analyst for the financial, actuarial and analytics team within the health and benefits practice of the multinational insurance, risk management and human resources services company. He will join WTW in New York City following graduation.

“The intense learning aspect of the internship, as well as the people I was able to learn from, definitely made the experience worthwhile, and are the two main reasons that I’ve decided to return,” he says.

Tauscher particularly valued his daily interactions with clients, which he described as the highlight of his internship. His responsibilities included group presentations, detailed reviews of client compliance and benefits documents, and conducting budget and rate-cut analyses. Looking ahead, he is “most looking forward to working with the Financial, Actuarial, and Analytics team,” citing his appreciation for “the analytical nature of the work and the need to adapt your strategy for each individual client.”

Prior to his internship with WTW, Tauscher gained industry exposure through a virtual internship with SAKS Health, a medical communications and media group founded by Khawar Khokhar '00. Oliver credits this experience with introducing him to the healthcare and health benefits sectors and providing a strong foundation for his career.

Khokhar also serves as SAKS Health's CEO and regularly hosts interns from Hobart and William Smith.

On campus, Tauscher co-founded the Health Professions Association to assist students in navigating the career search process within the healthcare industry. As co-president, he organizes career panels and forums on diverse topics, ranging from clinical roles to consulting and administrative positions. His hope is to inspire students to pursue their passions while recognizing the skills they already possess.

Tauscher also serves as the president of the Hobart Club Ice Hockey team, an O'Laughlin Ambassador for the Admissions Office, a member of the Kappa Alpha Society, and the student representative on the Committee on Standards.
