12 June 2024 Yohan ’25 Secures Internship with Adtalem Global Education By Fiona Gallagher '26

Tessa Yohan ’25 will gain professional skills from a leading healthcare corporation.

This summer, Tessa Yohan ’25 will head to Chicago, Illinois to serve as the social media and content intern for Adtalmen Global Education, a U.S corporation that operates several for-profit higher education medical institutions. In the position, Yohan will work on the corporation’s social media accounts and with graphics creation, video production and blogging teams.

A media & society major with a double minor in English and entrepreneurial studies, Yohan believes the post will provide her with valuable experience in her pursuit of a career in corporate communications. After learning of the position on LinkedIn, she worked with the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education to prepare for the interview.

“I attended sessions on networking and interviewing essentials,” she says. “This gave me the confidence to dive head-in with my multiple interviews.”

Yohan also credits the knowledge she’s acquired in her classes. “This semester, particularly in Lisa Patti's “Media Industries” class and Ben Ristow's “Sports Media Seminar,” I have gained insight and hands-on experience in my writing and class projects,” she says, noting the importance of storytelling and perspective when writing.

On campus, Yohan is a member of the Herons swimming and diving team, Hillel Board and Kinetic Dance Collective, and serves as a representative on the William Smith Athletics Committee.
