Arts Scholarships
If chosen as an Arts Scholar, students are not required to major in a fine or performing art, but it is the expectation that the scholar will participate every year for four years in the art for which they were designated a scholar. All arts scholars require a completed arts application.

Deborah Tall Scholarship for Creative Writing
The Deborah Tall scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate refined writing skills based on 10-15 pages of original creative writing in any combination of fiction, poetry or creative non-fiction.
Arthur Dove ’03 Scholarship for Studio, Fine Art, and Architecture
The Arthur Dove scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate refined understanding of studio art, architecture or photography.
Edward E. Griffith Scholarship for Theatre and Theatre Tech
The Edward E. Griffith scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate refined understanding in Theatre and Theatre Tech.
Janet Seeley Performing Arts Scholarship for Dance
The Janet Seeley Performing Arts Scholarship in Performance or Choreography is awarded to students who demonstrate past experience in, and understanding of dance, broadly defined. We welcome applicants who have experience in any dance genre, including but not limited to African Diasporic dance forms, ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, or social dance forms. The HWS Dance and Movement Studies department faculty will review each candidate, and scholarships will be awarded based on their recommendations.
Lindsay Lafford Scholarship for Musical Performance
The Lindsay Lafford scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate refined skills of vocal or instrumental performance based on two contrasting examples of audio recordings.
