TeleHealth Individual Counseling

Counselors at the Counseling Center provide an opportunity for students to explore any personal problems or concerns that they may have. During your initial appointment, you and your counselor will discuss the issues that brought you to the Center and work on developing a treatment plan to address your concerns.

Outreach and Educational Programming

The Counseling Center provides campus educational programming which aspires to approach all outreach efforts with a philosophy of building solid and authentic relationships with campus constituents through preventative interventions that will support HWS students' developmental, wellness, and mental health needs, increase access to services, reduce stigma to the mental health field, and promote social justice within our greater community.

Our staff works to connect with the Colleges by serving as liaisons to various campus departments, participating in campus-wide events and programs, conducting educational workshops, providing faculty/staff training and consultation, serving as academic instructors, and increasing our visibility and accessibility of services.

Psychiatric Referrals

Students are sometimes referred for a medical or psychiatric consultation when it appears that they might benefit from a medication. Medication in addition to counseling can be helpful when someone is experiencing depression, anxiety and other psychological issues.
